29 October 2009
September and October have been extremely busy months at home and abroad for the Law Council of Australia.
The dust had barely settled on September's very successful Australian Legal Convention when I returned to Melbourne to play host to a delegation from the Japan Federation of Bar Associations.
The delegation met at my office at Russell Kennedy before we attended the Federal Court of Australia and met with Justice Michelle Gordon. We also visited the Law Institute of Victoria and met with its CEO Mike Brett-Young and other staff.
In early October I participated in a whirlwind visit to Europe and the United Kingdom, using the opportunity to attend the International Bar Association (IBA) Conference in Madrid, to also partake in the opening of the legal year in London and the 2nd Australian-European Lawyers Conference in Berlin.
